Listen to Why You Want To Be In the Zone with Bob Palmer on: Apple Podcasts | Spotify | Your platform of choice
In this episode of the Ranchonomics podcast, host John Haskell is joined by high-performance leadership expert Bob Palmer. Bob brings a wealth of experience from his work with athletes and business leaders, and is sharing his knowledge on how mental and physical strategies can transform performance not only in sports but in everyday life. We are discussing the Zone Rancher course, what the zone is and how to sustain it, tools for consistent growth, and the importance of high performance in business and in personal life.
Bob Palmer founded SportExcel Inc. in 1994, driving high-performance innovation that is transforming how businesspeople and organizations achieve their dreams. A respected and inspiring industry leader and expert, Palmer has been instrumental in pioneering a systems-based, non-psychology approach to leadership (and through it, mental health) that has revolutionized leadership in the sport and business world.
Bob designed the program for sport during the period while earning his 4th degree black belt in karate, and then developed and extended the model while working with wide-range of executive athletes and sport CEOs. Frank Thompson, a Nebraskan rancher and successful Olympic Athlete in international skeet shooting, found the high-performance system effective for his running of his ranch operation. He introduced SportExcel to Ranching FYI and seminar for ranchers is the result.
Bob holds a degree in Education from Brock University (Canada) and a degree in Environmental Studies (systems) from the University of Waterloo. He writes on high performance and leadership for several magazines. He is married to the love of his life and business partner, Caron, and has four adult children and a growing number of grandchildren.
